Background

I've had 10+ years of academic and athletic coaching, mentoring, and teaching experience. From private tutoring and coaching sessions, to working in both small and large groups of students aged elementary school to college, I've worked with them all! I am motivated to continue inspiring people to get into research and science in the same ways that I was, through strong mentorship and 1:1 connections

Academic Teacher

I have been a private tutor since high school, and more recently have been serving as a TA here at UTK in the Biology Department. In addition to teaching many sections of BioLit 150 about biological literacy to undergraduate students, I've more recently stepped into the role of Curriculum Development Assistant, helping the course coordinator to rethink and revamp the various assignments and learning objectives that are carried throughout the course. Besides being actively part of the classroom, I have also earned my CIRTL Associate's Degree through UTK's FUEL program, took part in the 2024 Rocky Top Research Coach program, and am actively educating myself in practices in Biology Education with Education Research groups here at UTK.

Athletic Coach

I played for four years on Vassar's Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team, an NCAA DIII team that competes against competitive teams in New York, and even served as Captain for my senior year. Thanks to my background and dedication, I have been a private coach for both individuals, summer camps, and full travel teams. My experience has led me to coach over spans of days, months, and even years. I have really enjoyed being able to coach the sport to the next generation of women's lacrosse players!

Camp Counselor

I have been a camp counselor for multiple years at several camps, including Northern California Flute Camp (NCFC) and various lacrosse camps. Being a counselor at a stay-away camp provides plenty of opportunities to bond with campers, learn about teamwork, and most importantly the chance to learn 40 - 50 names in one night!
